Something Freaky Happened On My Way Here This Morning...

Clicked on "Message Boards" from joshgroban.com home page as usual figuring I'd see all of the message boards listed like they usually are, but this is all I saw:

I can get to my profile where I can see my most recent posts & navigate to those forums from my profile. I reached this one using the search buttons.

This has never happened before & I can't figure out how to get back the normal list of message boards. Everything was fine when I shut down last night & nothing has changed with my computer.

Anybody have a clue as to what could have happened & how to fix it? Maybe it's just board maintenance going on?

Was kicked off for over 10 hours during the night. And not the first time either.
If they are planning work on the site, it would be nice if we got advanced warning.

Yeah, everything seems fine now. I noticed right after I posted this thread I couldn't get to any board.

A head's up about maintenance would be nice, maybe it was just something unexpected, but at least it seems up & running again.

I kept getting the message that the board I always go to (joshgrobanezboard ) was nonexistant. Then after a few more tries I got the message that said "sorry Yuku is updating. Thank you for your patience". This was at 11:30 ish last night. So I said to myself the he** with it and went to bed. This morning ...ok. 2nd time this happened in a few months.

Well... about an hour or two ago, I experienced the FREAKIEST phenomenon I have ever seen, yet! I was navigating one of these forums (I think it was OTHER TOPICS) -- having gotten there by an indirect method, but NOT from the "usual" menu, as so many of you have already described...

When, while I was logged on, and I was simply reading messages posted within one of the threads... I wanted to go BACK to the page which lists the titles of the various threads on OTHER TOPICS. So... as I often do... I simply hit the "back" button on my browser, to return to the previous page.

WHAT HAPPENED!!!?? Oh my God! Up at the very top of the web page -- where right up until that moment it had been saying "Welcome GiraConMe2!" -- it suddenly said "Welcome Kitchencanary!"

Now... HOW IN THE WORLD could the Yuku server "confuse" the COOKIE on my browser with the cookie of the other user by the name of Kitchencanary??? And... when it listed all of the online users down on the bottom of the page, it didn't any longer list "GiraConMe2" but it listed "Kitchencanary" instead!!! This completely freaked me out!

So... I immediately LOGGED OFF and didn't come back until an hour later, at which point I logged-on under my correct user name, and now it seems to work okay. SOMETHING IS TERRIBLY WRONG HERE! I hope that the message board is not under attack, and I hope it's not being "hacked."

Gira, if you think you were confused, when I logged on I only saw my name down at the bottom.

That was scary.
I also could not log out.

Whoa.............. Has anyone used the smilies yet today? There is something different and it still is not fixed.
Have a box with a red x in middle down at bottom just before the devil one.

Oh well guess still not all fixed. Seem like a lot of people had same problem. Eventually they will fix it.

This board has been loading weird for me... sometimes firefox gives me a "this page cannot be displayed" message, sometimes it loads to a blank, white page. Most of the time it takes 3 - 6 minutes to load. When I just opened the main page, everything was fine. I hope that it's just a kink that's been worked out!

Hi All,

I had exactly the same problem last night that June had...so I went to the Navigation arrow and back to topics where I'd posted
from my profile and got in that way, too.

But it looked as though all of Gronania was poofed...not a fun thought.

Whoah...
I had problems logging on... in fact, I have had problems reaching the yuku board on many occasions over the past few weeks.
I would suggest everyone save whatever needs to be saved, in case there's a major crash coming...
Don't worry, it's just an internet site

if it crashes, hey'll surely build another one

we have to take things as they come and not freak out more than necessary...

My first thought when I got that blank page was 276 pages of "Raise 27" gone plus the original thread.

Wish I could think of way of saving all those pages, I really do. I would cry buckets if this site ever crashed.
