Congrats on 20 Awesome Seasons!!!
Nov 4 09 11:00 AM
Mary, you knew about the new TC show a few days ago? Don't ya know you're obligated to report anything related to TC in this thread?
I don't mind that there's no new episode...as long as they're showing something new from TC. I love seeing past contestants too. I saw the list and
I was hoping Sam (Season 2) would be there too, but oh well. I guess he has other obligations. Tiffani, Harold, Marcel, Ilan, Dale, Casey, Hung, Richard,
Carla, and Stefan are in the TC: All Stars Dinner special. And yes, Fabio hosts. The only person I don't care to see is Lisa from last season. She's
boring and annoying. Yes, some other chefs are annoying, but they're still amusing. Hmm...last year's winner Stefanie isn't there either. I guess
her restaurant is waiting for her. LeeAnn could have replaced Hung, but he's toned it down a bit, so he ain't bad. But I like seeing more female chefs
than male chefs. I saw a preview of tonight's show from Hulu and it looks like a bit of drama! Woot!
Any chefs that was absent that you wish were there for the TC special?

Since I didn't bother to comment on last week's TC reunion special...
Just had to say that Fabio was a bad host. *bleh* I guess he had nothing better to ask than trying to create drama with Marcel? or even with Casey. So maybe it
wasn't all Fabio's doing and the producers may have had a hand in that, but seriously, I think something that already has been played out, being hashed
out again is soooo boring! It makes me wonder what this whole reunion was all about. They shouldn't have done this reunion thing at all then. It was a
waste of time. There were some info about the chefs, more on their background and cooking...even never-before-scenes of TC, but other than that it was a waste
of time. One more comment. I thought Casey looked so much prettier with her reddish-brown hair! I'm glad she's changed her hair color from that yicky
blonde. Oh yeah, about Fabio's speech at the dinner table about everything who doesn't want to be there should leave. Maybe it's the editing
because people were laughing, so he may have said more, but really, if that was the speech itself, I would have been sooo annoyed with him.
Okay, on with Wednesday's episode for the Vegas Hotel challenge...

There's about 2-3 episodes left, right?

Man, Sarah, that does suck majorly that you don't get Bravo anymore. I would have no idea how to even begin trying to find the episodes online
but I wish you luck. I think there are 3 episodes left, including the reunion. I just got my TV Guide today but I can't remember what day it said the
reunion was, but that will be the last episode.

I haven't been to SD a lot, but it is a beautiful place. I live in the North Orange County area. San Diego would be about 2 hours away. Los Angeles
takes about 45 min - 1 hour to get around. But it can be farther depending on which part of L.A. you're headed to and if you're stuck in traffic! Most
Orange County residents that I know (don't quote me on it) really don't enjoy driving to L.A! I would ask any of my other friends to drive if I had the
choice. For some who have lived in the O.C. area that moved to L.A. say that living in L.A. is pretty kool. There's more of a nightlife there (although not
a whole lot compared to NY or European cities) and more things to see and do. But it's definitely not a safe place for women unless you're living in a
good neighborhood which means you need the money to live in a nicer area. But I like living in the O.C area, so much safer, cleaner, and less crazy people
walking around! Yeah, the weather is amazing here in Southern California and I love that! There is almost always sun shining and we do have the luxury of
driving to the beach whenever because there are so many beaches around where we live. It's a great place to live if you live a busy, fun-filled, active
life. You need to be proactive in your daily life...you need to go out of your way to enjoy everything or else it can be a terribly boring place at the same
time! Many Europeans hate it here because of it. There's no real life in Southern California. You can't just walk out the door to your local coffee
shop. You have to drive. Everything is meant to be traveled by car. People might travel in their bicycles or automobiles, but most people drive cars. We
don't have enough contact with the outside world...with the places we go to or the people we pass by on a daily basis. I think that's what makes NYC or
European cities wonderful to be at...you get contact with people and have some interaction with them. O.C. get stuck in a certain pattern of life and lifestyle
that interacting with people can be more of an annoyance or bother than something positive. Yes, there are more pros and cons. There is much more, but this
post has gotten long enough.
Yeah, Kevin got unlucky with his sous chefs. If he had at least gotten one great chef, then he would have been less distracted and could have focused more on
his food instead of using so much of his time prepping the food. But he could have used a different strategy too. Sadly, he didn't think of one. Oh yeah,
about that spoiler I mentioned before...It was about Kevin going home as 3rd...and whoever posted that spoiler was right! I don't know about the other
thing though. The person said that s/he bumped into Kevin in downtown somewhere (city? don't remember) and he mentioned something about being unfairly sent
It would have been some drama to watch if Michael picked Robin! She would have sabotaged his whole meal!
The restaurant that Michael works at is in Pasadena. >>> http://pasadena.langhamhotels.com/en/restaurants/best_restaurants_pasadena.htm
<<< Scroll down for the menus.
I gave a couple of links of the other chefs in the previous page as well.
I've been talking with my parents to go to The Dining Room with me within the next 2 weeks for my birthday...just looking at the menu is getting me all
excited! I would go with friends, but I don't have friends who have sophisticated palates. I don't think they would appreciate the price too, unless I
paid for them.
It looks like Stephanie Izard's restaurant isn't open yet. I don't know what's going on, but looking at her website...she has changed the name!
There isn't an official website for her restaurant this is all I could find.

I did love this season too! I really enjoyed watching! I think it's up there with Season 1 & 2.
They're casting for Season 7 and nothing has been set yet...not even the location. Btw, did you know that Padma as so close to leaving TC? She committed to
a new show on NBC, but because it was a minor role, she decided to stay on as TC host. I can't image TC without anyone else! She makes her job look so easy
when it's not!

I looked at the menu and I have to say that it's very interesting. I don't like fish at all so I probably wouldn't eat the seafood.
But, I would probably try some of the meat dishes. I'm not even exactly sure what foie gras is and I like to know what I'm eating. And, of course to
me, all the desserts look amazing. I would definitely have to try the chocolate afternoon tea. That just seems so cool! The blog Stephanie wrote was
hilarious and I can't wait for her restaurant to open!!

I'm sorry Sarah, I accidentally posted under my old name. I hope I didn't confuse you.

"Foie gras (pronounced /fwɑːˈɡrɑː/ in
English; French for "fat liver") is a food product made of the liver of a duck or goose that has been specially fattened. This fattening is typically achieved through
gavage (force-feeding) corn, according to French law, though outside of France it is occasionally
produced using natural feeding. Pâté de foie gras was formerly known as "Strasbourg pie" in English due to that city being a major producer of this food product.
Foie gras is a popular and well-known delicacy in French cuisine. Its flavour is described as rich, buttery, and delicate, unlike that of
a regular duck or goose liver. Foie gras is sold whole, or is prepared into mousse, parfait, or pâté (the lowest quality), and may also be served as an accompaniment to another food item, such as steak.
French law states that "Foie gras belongs to the protected cultural and gastronomical heritage of France."
The technique of gavage dates as far back as 2500 BC, when the ancient Egyptians began keeping birds for food and deliberately fattened the birds through
Today, France is by far the largest producer and consumer of foie gras, though it is produced
and consumed worldwide, particularly in other European nations, the United
States, and China.
Gavage-based foie gras production is controversial, due to
the force feeding procedure and the possible health consequences of an enlarged liver that could be faced by the duck or goose. A number of countries and other
jurisdictions have laws against force feeding or the
$%%! of foie gras."
Mary -- Haha, I knew it was you. Maryluvstim is your old screenname!
I think we, as Americans should know about our history and familiarize ourselves with all the historical sites! I think it's great your family enjoys doing
Honestly, I don't even remember eating fudge! I'm sure I tried it once, years ago. It's funny, ain't it? Yeah, you're probably
going... No way!
Btw, what's the name of the store?
I wanted to try the Chocolate Afternoon Tea or even the Traditional Afternoon Tea, but I don't have enough foodie friends to go there. *boo hoo* I've
heard that the Sunday Champagne Brunch is wonderful there too!
Question: Do you consider yourself a foodie? I've realized that all of my friends aren't foodies. They say they are, but really, they aren't. They
don't want to go to different restaurants, cafes etc. to try new foods! They only want to go to places where they've eaten before or familiar with the
cuisine. Where do you meet foodies anyway?
I think Stephanie gave a sampling of her restaurant food a couple of months ago. I remember seeing pictures on her website.
So Wednesday will be the final and Reunion episode! That will be interesting to watch! Wonder who will win TC Fan Favorite?
