Hey guys...it's Josh. Havn't been on here since the tour because I've been finishing the album. I wanted to write because of Myriam's comment about the e-mails. I'm working with WBR to get a way to respond to the 1500 or so e-mails that I've recieved...so I'll let you know on my website when some of them have been written back! Thanks so much for the support and the album will be out Nov. 9'th! Take care everyone.

Hi Everyone! It's Josh...sorry I havn't been on the board lately. As you know, things have been a bit crazy.
Sept. 11 held an event in history that we will never forget and my heart goes out to those who lost loved ones on that tragic day. I think we are all still recovering. I also want to tell you how deeply moved I was by the encouraging and heartfelt messages on this board the last few weeks. Music has a wonderful way of healing during times of great sadness and if mine helped in any way then I am truely touched.
Here are some updates on whats been going on....
The album is finished and the new release date is November 20!
I just returned from Cardiff, Wales where I performed a wonderful song called The Prayer with Charlotte Church for her PBS special. We have also collaborated to record it for both of our albums! I'm very excited about this song...it has a lot of meaning for me personally and I hope you all enjoy it when the album is released.
To answer your questions about a couple other songs: "To Where You Are" written by Richard Marx and Linda Thompson was a wonderful song that I recorded early on and maybe it will surface again one day but unfortunately it is not on my debut album. The violin solo that you heard on the Malena score sounds similar to "You're Still You" because it's the same music that inspired the song. Ennio Morricone (who also wrote the score to Malena) wrote "You're Still You" to play during the ending credits of the film. The director decided he wanted an all instrumental score so we went ahead and kept the song and I'm thrilled that it found a home on my album and on Ally Mcbeal! )
Thats all for now...I'll post again soon!
-Josh

Hey guys...sorry, I made a typo... the release date is November 20'th!! Sorry about that!! I'm also sorry that you all have had to wait so long..believe me, I've wanted to get this out more than anyone! It was out of my hands and I hope you all can wait for november!

Hey it's me again...
Here's a bit of whats been going on lately!
I read recently that there was some curiosity as to when I would post new answers to e-mail questions on this site. Warner Bros. is making a new and improved site to go up when the album is released and I'm sure you will all find much more on that one! As for writing back to every e-mail...I never in a million years expected to recieve as many brilliant questions and comments as I did. I was able to read most of them but unfortunately it has just been impossible to respond to all of them. I hope (for now) I can answer some of your questions on this forum!
---The PBS special that I did with Charlotte Church will air late Nov. through mid Dec. I will post an exact date when I find out!
---In a couple of weeks, most Barnes & Noble and Borders stores will have a sample CD of the upcoming album that you can ask for at the counter. It's a pretty good sample but I can't wait for you all to hear the whole thing!
---I just finished filming the christmas episode of Ally Mcbeal!! It will air Dec. 10 and it features the song "To Where You Are" from the album.
Thats all for now...talk to you soon.
-Josh
----------
My birthday is Feb. 27, 1981....I will most likely have a fan club when the album is out that you can write to. Amazingly enough, Warner Bros. Records doesn't have a place that you can send fan mail...if you sent anything to them, I havn't recieved it myself. So sorry about your birthday message! You're right...I was never given the e-mail...so HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! To answer your third question, unfortunately the only way to get the sample CD is at the counter. It should be at every B & N and Borders counter in a week. Of course, come november, you will be able to order the whole CD on their site as well. Hope that helps! Thanks for the questions!
-Josh
------------
Sorry Jan, I will not be on Good Morning America on the 20'th of Nov...It looks like I will be in Canada doing the Canada AM show (the biggest morning show in Canada!) on the 20'th. I'm sure that GMA is in the near future though! Sorry about the mix up!
-Josh
--------------
Don't be upset Tara!
Have no fear! We still don't know whether the Dec. 15'th Charger game is still on...but if it ISN'T, I will be back to do it a few days later. I will be promoting the album on star radio before doing the national anthem either on the 15'th or a day shortly after. Either way, keep checking the News for the latest schedual changes! I promise we will keep it up to date!! I'll write an update message in a few days to let everyone know whats been going on but I just wanted to write Tara personally and let her know that I hope she can still make the game! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Hey Everyone!!
Wow...I deserve to be smacked with a pillow for not writing in sooner!
Things have been wonderfully hectic lately and you all have helped out
SOOO MUCH! Every time I check in on the site I'm blown away with all
of your incredible dedication, enthusiasm and love for music. You all
are making this site and this album happen and I have a MAJOR THANK
YOU
to all of you!!!
December was an amazing month for me and I hope you all enjoyed my TV
appearances! (I don't blame you if you couldn't get up to watch the
Today show...I barely made it
myself)! Brian Boitano turned out to be one of the nicest guys in the
world and I was so thrilled to be asked to be on his special. I thought
he and Kristi Yamaguchi did an awesome job. The Larry King Show was
wonderful too. He's one of the smartest guys in television and he was
totally nice and I loved how they made the music on that show a
tribute to the victims of Sept. 11.
Last month I got to travel to Oslo, Norway! It's one of my favorite
places on earth. The country is beautiful, the people are REALLY
friendly, and the food is amazing...but only if you like cheese and
herring (I'm weird that way). I did a TV special over there called
Sportsman of the Year. It honors the top Norweigian sports stars and
has the top musical acts in Norway. The king of Norway was also there
and the audience was amazing. It's only a small part of our European
tour in the next year.
The coming months are full of incredible things, a couple of which I
have to wait a few days before I can tell you. I CAN tell you, since
I know a lot of you have been frustrated that the NEWS post has been
up way too long (sorry about that!), what the special "surprise" is
that David Foster and I have planned. He and I are going to get
together in the studio tomorrow and bring a camera and pick out some
of your questions and try to answer them together. Warner records has
sent me all of your wonderful questions and comments so hopefully
yours will get answered! We may even play some music you haven't heard
yet (Shhhh!). Anyway, it should be fun!
Thanks again everyone for being so great and considerate on this site.
I speak for everyone in saying KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!! Stay tuned to
the NEWS section for some more great updates in the next week!! BYE!

hey everyone- i finally am able to write to all of you thanks to robin and john at warner bros. setting me up--first of all, i can't find the right words to thank all of you for your support for our josh. when you read liz smith's column "the first true internet star" you must certainly take a lot of pride and credit in that statement. brian and i have been working with josh for 3 years and this album has been a labor of love for me. now, thanks to all of you, warner bros. has gone full blown ( and done an incredible job) and the whole world is finding out what we and all of you have known for months. he is, as you have all spoken about, a great kid with an unbelievable talent and a voice from another planet. he has his feet firmly planted on the ground and has great parents and a great brother. i love all kinds of music but given the choice, this is where my heart is.
about the surprise--sorry it has taken so long but i think it will be up late tonight or tomorrow. we had fun doing it and i hope you will find it fun, entertaining and personal.(only for josh's website)
josh as you can imagine is working very hard--24/7. right now he's on his way to canada for some tv shows and press. its been quite a ride so far--very gratifying but much more work still to do. under the column of "you know you're hitting the bigtime when..) today i was having lunch with a.j. from the backstreet boys(namedropper) and he says "who's that dude with the curly hair--what a voice "--so there you have it!!!!
i want you to know that i visit this sight every few days and i find it informative, funny, intelligent, entertaining and very very interesting. we appreciate you all very much--there hopefully will be millions soon but we know where it all started. thankyou-thankyou-thankyou--by the way, that was my daughter amy who posted--she's a great songwriter signed to emi( website amy gillies .com) and i love the song she wrote on the album and of course my wife wrote the lyrics to "to where you are" and "you're still you." kind of a family thing. yes it was me who signed on jeanne's site (great site) and i did spell grobAnite wrong and i don't ever use capitals and i never check spelling or read what i write soooo ...here goes--i will post again soon--best regards --david

Hello from Canada!
--------------------
Hi guys!
I`m in Montreal right now and it`s GORGEOUS! It`s really cold and
snowing quite a bit so I can`t go out side (two tv shows tomorrow!)
but I can look out my window.
Just so everyone knows, the Valentines are NOT the surprise! It should
be up later tonight. I think the valentines are pretty cool though.
This japanese animator wanted to do a `cartoon`type theme for them so
I thought it would be fun. Don`t worry I`m not trying to be a
Backstreet Boy!
Also, I`m sure you all noticed that David Foster has signed in as
`JoshProducer`. He`s just as excited as I am about interacting with
all of you and keeping up on this wonderful community that you`ve
made.
Thats all for now...just a little update! Hope you all liked Leno
and enjoy the surprise! (is it a surprise anymore?) Talk to you soon.

After David's incredible posting, I also wanted to thank all of you loyal Grobanites. Your continued support has helped to catapult Josh's record sales all over the world. Liz Smith, a very famous newspaper columnist, stated that Josh's album is truly the first driven by the Internet.
Josh and I shall be traveling all over the world in the next few months. I will make sure that Jon continually updates the schedule so that we can try to meet you on our travels. Today, Josh and I are in Montreal. Next week we will be back in LA to tape 20/20. As soon as we know the air date for 20/20, we shall post. We are also preparing for the closing ceremony at the Olympics.
Again, from the bottom of my heart---THANK YOU!

can you even imagine how thrilled i am that many of you got together to do such a wonderful thing for josh's birthday by making contributions to our foundation in canada. it was one of the most heartfelt things that i have ever experienced. 16 years ago i visited a little girl from my hometown in the hospital here. she needed a liver transplant. she was extra sad because it was her sister's birthday and she missed her. terribly. for a 400 dollar airfare i was able to light up her world more than you could imagine. when her sister walked into that hospital room i was hooked for good. thats what we do. airfares, housing, morgage payments, cars, etc. we have only one (very underpaid )employee--lynn--she's a saint--the rest of the money goes exactly where it's supposed to go. your generous dollars are lighting up some childs life right now so go to sleep knowing you have done something great today. who knew that pouring your heart and soul into an album with a great talent like josh would lead to things like this--it's a great world!!!

Both Josh and I have been very busy traveling of late. We have just returned from Europe and New Zealand. As of today, Josh is # 7 on the Swedish charts, #6 in Norway, Gold in New Zealand, Gold in the USA. We will make another trip to Europe in the next few weeks to do more TV in England and Germany.
Josh will also be performing with John Williams and The Boston Pops on June 1st. The show will be taped for TV. As soon as we have the air dates, John will post them. I am sure you know that we are doing Rosie on April 16th and that 20/20 airs on April 12th-this Friday.
Again, I am so thankful for the Grobanites and your support. As Josh and I travel around the world we get to meet more of you. A great big thank you and hello from Josh and I to you.

"Hey, its Josh. Im calling in from Tucson, Arizona. Im here in the desert doing a private gig. I guess were kind of practicing to put on a real show for you guys. Were going to scope out some great theatres over the summer, and hopefully well have some kind of a tour going in October or November.
"I know Ive been really bad. Its been a long time since I phoned in. But Ive just been all over the place these last two months having a wonderful time. Doing the Rosie ODonnell show was a lot fun, and it was great to see some of you guys after that. We just did Good Morning America the other day, and it was live from Napa Valley. So my call time was about 2:30 in the morning, and I had to sing around 4:30 in the morning. So thats why there was no sunlight behind me, and I hope I didnt look too tired.
"Im going to be traveling all over the place in the next couple of months. Were going to South Africa; were going to Germany; were going to Sweden; were going to Norway. And, of course, were going to be also in America. Were going to be doing The View sometime very shortly, and I cant wait to perform with John Williams and the Boston Pops on June 1st.
"You guys have been amazing. Your support has been incredible. Ive been reading the forums, and your posts are just great. My mom got all of your Birthday wishes, so she says thank you from her. And we reached number eight on Billboard which was a surprise to all of us, so hopefully well keep on going. So thank you guys for all your hard work. Its been great to meet some of you, and hopefully Ill be able to meet more of you very soon. I hope all of you doing well, and thanks a lot."

Dear Grobanites,
Well, this is my first post to the board! I just wanted to respond about the lack of official merchandise available. We are in the process of making Josh's merchandise available to the public. It will take some time as it has to go through many approval stages before it gets advertised. In the meantime, if anyone wants to manufacture, advertise and sell any items with Josh Groban's image, I would suggest that you get approval from Josh and his legal representatives before accepting money for unauthorized merchandise. Technically, it is illegal if you don't own the rights to that image. Keeping with the spirit of the Grobanites trying to spread the "Josh", please write to Avnet Management for written approval for your t-shirts and/or other items and possibly we can make it work for everyone and keep the legalities at a minimum. I promise we will respond back to you as fast as we can. I know that you make these items for the gatherings and not for some huge personal profit.
Best regards,
Lynne Malone
P.S. I think Darsparkle's t-shirt looks great and I absolutely love Shari's embroidered one! Thanks again Shari for sending me one.

Message from Avnet Management
----------------------------------------
Dear Grobanites,
As you know, Josh, Lynne and I are so thankful for the support of all of the fans. We have always tried to accommodate your requests for Meet & Greets and/or TV shows.
Now, so many people are making requests that it is physically impossible for Josh and Avnet Management to honor them.
Every time there is a TV show or radio promotion, we cannot guarantee meet & greets, special treatment for show tickets, and access to radio stations.
As both Lynne and I are very busy with Josh's career, it is very time consuming for us to respond to all of the emails directed our way about the above topics.
Again, WE LOVE THE GROBANITES and will continue to help anytime and anywhere. Please understand that we are only trying to be honest and supportive.
There will be some exciting news very soon as to touring, TV, and an update on Josh's album.
Best regards,
BRIAN AVNET & LYNNE MALONE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's a post from Jon that is pretty relevant to the whole board. It's from a thread in the "Questions" forum about "Josh's naughty side."
-----------------------------
Hey Renee and everyone,
Thanks for stating the "unspoken" rules of the board. You're absolutely right, it is kind of an unwritten rule that discussion about personal matters related to Josh are discouraged from the board, particularly because - well, they're personal!
Also, we do have lots of young fans coming to the board now and we want to make sure that they don't stumble onto anything questionable -
I think everyone, for the most part, keeps personal matters off of the board without any problem at all - this topic was starting to become questionable, but glad to see it sparked some interest in these issues.
Thanskf or helping keep the JG board a great place for all of us!
Best,
Jon

Hi guys!
wow..this is weird. Those comments regarding the incredible Lara Fabian were never said. The only thing that I can remember is that the interviewer did not know who she was. As for a possible duet with Celine, I hope this does in fact happen but there is no song written yet and certainly no title so I don't know where this journalist got her information. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

Well it's been an awfully long time since my last post (SOOO SORRY!!) but so much has happened I feel like I've kept in touch with all of you through every performance and interview. And as always, I am so proud of how this forum has grown and how you guys have kept it a wonderful, honest and open place. The messages to me and my family have been read by all of us (we send our thanks!!), and the images in the "Pictures of Josh" section are almost always disturbing (in a good way). I also want to say a BIG HELLO to all new fans that are here since I've posted last. THANK YOU for joining and for your support!!
Lynne and Brian brought over a big box of letters and packages from some of you that you sent as "get well" gifts! I was completely overwhelmed! Opening everything was such a cool way to pass the time while recovering and the messages and letters were just wonderful. I wish I could thank each and every one of you personally and I can't wait until I get COMPLETELY better so I can start traveling again and hopefully see you guys soon! THANKS also to everyone who donated to your favorite charities during this time.
Speaking of recovering...I'm doing fine...I plan a full recovery in the next week and there are some very exciting things coming up. I've started heavy planning for my PBS special airing in Nov. and I'll have information very soon about how to get you all there!
-Josh

Sorry Jan, I will not be on Good Morning America on the 20'th of Nov...It looks like I will be in Canada doing the Canada AM show (the biggest morning show in Canada!) on the 20'th. I'm sure that GMA is in the near future though! Sorry about the mix up!

16 years ago i visited a little girl from my hometown in the hospital here. she needed a liver transplant. she was extra sad because it was her sister's birthday and she missed her. terribly. for a 400 dollar airfare i was able to light up her world more than you could imagine. when her sister walked into that hospital room i was hooked for good. thats what we do. airfares, housing, morgage payments, cars, etc. we have only one (very underpaid )employee--lynn--she's a saint--the rest of the money goes exactly where it's supposed to go. your generous dollars are lighting up some childs life right now so go to sleep knowing you have done something great today. who knew that pouring your heart and soul into an album with a great talent like josh would lead to things like this--it's a great world!!!
thankyou , thankyou --david foster

*** Just thought I better place Josh's last call-in transcript here, before it gets lost...
-----------------------------------------------------------
"Hey, its Josh.

Best,
Jon

Bonjour!
I would like to explain to our French friend the situation in Paris. Warner France needed a forum to release the album. They now have it-a series of TV performances by Josh in Paris. As soon as the details are finalized, we shall post the information on the forum.
Thanks for the continued Grobanite support.

Hi guys!
wow..this is weird.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey Everyone!!
I'm also honored to be part of an NBC concert for America airing on the evening of 9/11.
Lastly, I am so excited to finally say that To Where You Are is the #1 song on AC Radio!!!! Thank you all for your tireless help with radio. From the requests to the station contests, you all have helpe
