Time to bump this thread again...
Well, I've got some news....but it's not exactly related to Joshua Bell...well...it's sorta.
On Sat night, my boyfriend and I went to a concert in Adelphi University. We went there because pianist Simon Mulligan (former Joshua's pianist) was
performing Beethoven's piano concerto no.5. The gala concert was fabulous and they honored the Italian piano creator- Fazioli. So Simon played on the new
piano, but to be honest, I still prefer Steinway better (and I'm sure Simon feels the same way). During intermission, I went backstage to see Simon.
It's been about 2 years since I saw him, so I was excited! He met my boyfriend for the first time (finally they meet! hehe), and then we just chatted but
we didn't have much time during intermission, so he told me to see him after the concert as well . During the second half, the University's orchestra played Mahler's
Titan...and I just love that piece (first time I heard it live)!!! It's funny, but there's this one part that sounds like Kleizmer jewish music (I
think 3rd movement)...hehe....and there's also a scary part. After the concert, we went upstairs, they had sorta like a reception with food and wine. Simon
was so gracious and he told us to take some food (I wasn't planning on going to the reception...there were mostly musicians over there). So we chatted a
bit more....I asked him about his concert with Joshua Bell- apparently, yesterday they had a benefit concert in Washington! so I was glad to hear that he still
plays with Joshua Bell once in awhile! Anyhow, my boyfriend saw someone familiar in the room...he met this man who used to do the recording when my boyfriend
was playing in an orchestra in Texas! This guy is a recording engineer/ pianist and his name is Andreas Klein. I spoke to him a bit but
it's too bad I didn't speak to him more since we had to leave and it was getting late. I just looked at his website (www.andreasklein.com) and he did some recordings with Joshua Bell!! Too bad I didn't ask Mr. Klein about Josh...oh
well.... but it's funny my boyfriend knew this man and he took his card. Anyhow, the concert was really enjoyable and of course...I loved seeing Simon!
he's so friendly and has a sense of humor and he makes me feel more than just a fan when I'm with him.
And now news about Joshua Bell...
There's a rumor on his forum that Josh's next cd will be called Dance of the Violin! Well, he did Romance of the Violin, Voice of the Violin, so Dance of the Violin
makes sense after all!! Do you think he'll choose pieces like the
Hungarian Dance and Waltzes?? I wonder, but I like the idea!
I think I might go to his concert in NYC on Feb 9....*if* my boyfriend will want to go as well since it's on a Sunday, oh yea and it will be 3 days after
our third year anniversary (I've got a good feeling about it).
Margie- are you going to any of Josh's upcoming NYC concerts?
Steph- Welcome to JB's thread!! I already have his cd, but thanks for the offer. It's too bad none of your friends or family like
that kind of music (many of my friends don't listen to classical as well), but maybe you'll meet someone who'll like it.
Pam- where are you??? come back!!!!!!!1
I forgot to mention, I just got a new job in a hospital. I work as a Dietitian Assistant and so far it's going good. But for the last couple of days I had
the early shifts (6:00am-2:30pm) and it's so hard to wake up so early! the good thing is that the hospital isn't that far away from my house... My
usual shift will be from 10:30am-7:00pm....it's good I can sleep more in the morning, but then I'll come back so late oh well.... This is just for the experience, I know I wouldn't want to work
in a hospital forever.

So you already got married - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That was a fast engagement. What
beautiful photos - you both look so fantastic. Must have been a wonderful wedding.
Here's a video clip of JB's segment on PBS' Sunday Arts in NY. There's a bit of Josh G., Sting, Anoushka Shankar and the Eleanor Rigby thing.
All very nice.
