OMG, I thought I invented "Lupper!" There is also "Sunch." If it's closer to lunch time it's lupper, and closer to supper it's
sunch. I thought of this when I was a kid, and for some reason it makes sense to me. I can't possibly explain how my mind works sometimes.......

Crunchy!
Hey, I ahve been trying to see the blog but the computer freezes the image. This has been going on for years, and I am tired of it. Anyone have any idea what I can do? I just had the darn thing overhauled, so it is running fine. Ugh, it is always something. Oh, forgot to mention that everything works fine when watching video's on you tube...hmmmm....

Crystal Tallifero is terrific. She has toured with Bob Seger and John Mellencamp as well. You can see her in John's Paper in Fire video.
Non-Vent - going to see the EAGLES on Tuesday. Should be wonderful. Vent - I dread what will happen every time Josh does one of these blogs - people will start over-analyzing every word he says in ten different threads. Can't we all just listen and move on???

i apparently missed a whole boatload of stuff in the last 24 hours or so -
malin - i will weigh in - skippy or jiffy, CREAMY!! can't STAND that crunchy stuff....bleh i have never seen billy joel in concert, but would love to - i hear he's kind of a snot in real life, but there's no mistaking how wonderful his music is..... i saw garth brooks in concert a loooooong time ago with jerry, way before kids, possibly even before we got married - and he did the same thing during the concert - he was singing "unanswered prayers", and he stopped singing midway through, walked over to a stool and just sat down with his hat in his hands and the microphone just kind of dangling, with this look of utter astonishment and love on this face (i'm sure this was not new to him, but the expression on his face was still priceless) as the audience sang, very very tenderly, i might add, the chorus of "unanswered prayers" - it was goosebump inducing, that's for sure - something i will never forget....(if you don't know the song, i highly suggest seeking it out, it's absolutely breathtaking....) no vents right now - need to go to bed like 20 minutes ago, get some sleep, get the kids, and gear up to have another rugrat in the house, i have to watch overnight and take to church in the morning - i gotta clean my dang car out just so i can get the kid IN the car, and i need to tidy up the house a little before he gets here....way to start my weekend, working my tail off....oh well.... everybody have a vent free saturday....

Jen, my Saturday looks like yours. Except I at least get to be indoors and clean, not to car.
We have MAJOR cleaning on the schedule (which is why I think hubby is sleeping in....lol) We do a couple of these floor to ceiling cleanings a year, but since I can't keep doing to much with my arms above my head... I need his help. Problem for him, por thing, is that I am hyper critical about cleaning. Why don't get it right the first time? So when he tackles teh bathroom, I have to come in and point out what I want to have done... because for some reason, his eyesight just vanishes when it comes to dust and hair! And since I have waist lenght hair again (growing like weed for the first time in my life, thank you Glucosamine) and David has below his shoulderblades.... well, there is a lot of hairs everywhere. Along with the dogs straight sticky fur that get stuck in every fiber. But I am sure we will get through another of these cleanings... usually we don't get cracking until later in the day, cause David is NO fun before his 2 cups of coffee. Well, he can do it, but he is about as much fun as I am without my morning meds... So lets avoid that. Hope you all have a great Saturday, will try to look in later and let you know if we have started snapping at each other yet Malin

VENT - Not being able to keep my mouth shut. NOT A VENT - My mom and son are going to Alaska tonight and I have to drive them to DIA, it's over 80 miles away...it's not that I mind driving them up there...it's the driving back home...it's the tollway....it's the utter boredom of a long drive at night...I don't know why it's bothering me this time...I've driven this route many times before. WHY DO THE POSTS GET CUT OFF?? The right side seems to be a problem. Missing words.... I don't even get the option to scroll left to right, which is annoying enough but what is going on?

Americanpye: "My mom and son are going to Alaska tonight . . . "
Michelle: I hope you are going to get some enjoyable, quality alone time, plus have some fun, while your son is in Alaska. Kind of a vacation for yourself. Steph: I got a postcard from my friend who is vacationing in Nova Scotia and Maine. She wrote that Nova Scotia is absolutely fabulous. "I would definitely return to the province anytime -- the people, the clean, clear air (no pollution), miles and miles of protected land (no evil developers), the seemingly stress-free life, the obvious sense of pride in their country . . ." Makes me want to visit again. |

John, I get that, too. So much so that I don't even like to come to the boards. It is really annoying. I hate Yuku.

When the sides get cut off, sometimes it is because someone has a huge SOMETHING on the page that stretches it out. But I am not getting any of that, so I
can't help. Maybe a setting needs changing???

Maybe a setting needs changing??? I was thinking that but it's only some pages. Still, you never know. The opposite of courage in our society is not cowardice, but conformity. |

VACarol.....I have to say that I admire that you stood up and "blew the whistle" even while knowing it would affect your job. That took real guts.
Bravo!
Ron....I was so relieved to hear that no one was hurt during the glass shattering. Glass is the dickens to get up on a smooth floor, let alone a carpet. When you mentioned about your dinner being paid for by a stranger, it reminded me of a similar incident. My Mom and her friend were eating at a Cracker Barrel one evening. When they went to ask for the check, the waitress told them the bill had already been paid, and then handed them a letter from the "benefactor". This woman selects elderly patrons to "Pay it Forward" when she's in a restaurant. According to the letter, her own mother adored going out to eat, so after her mother passed away, she wanted to provide some pleasure to other elderly people and assist them in this small way to enjoy an evening out. Very touching. Malin....Glad to hear you enjoyed the concert! An experience like that goes a long way to boosting one's morale! Sorry to hear about this nasty cold you're trying to fight. Here's hoping it won't hang on too long. Sento.....I think it's great that you had the Gardisil vaccine. My older daughter had the series of shots, which she said weren't too bad. I can't convince my younger daughter to get it done, and she's an RN! Michelle....I know what you mean about long drives at night when you're alone. It borders on the eerie sometimes. But lots of good music on the radio and appropriate beverages can help to pass the time and get you in the right frame of mind. How long will your Mom and son be away? I'm finally feeling better---just working now on getting rid of the cough. Hubby's brother just left this morning after a 4 day stay with us. He is quite the character. I can understand why his students in high school (in Houston, TX) always vote him as the best teacher of the year. We all went on a tourist-y excursion yesterday here in Richmond, VA. We toured the Confederate Museum and the home of Jefferson Davis (he lived there during his "reign" as President of the Confederacy). The tour guide was full of interesting tidbits. non vent: Josh's blog. The clip kind of starts and stops the whole way through, but I was able to understand what he was saying. Saw "Dark Knight" Friday. Heath Ledger's performance was stunning----very convincing as the sadistic, cruel Joker.

How long will your Mom and son be away?Brenda, they'll be gone for a little over two weeks...they both enjoy each others company so much...they're so cute together and this is my son's 4th time going to Alaska with her.
My One Vent For the Day - A broken curtain rod in my bedroom (I have no idea how it's become broken )...I've tried to fix it and tried to maneuver the curtain to hang properly,
but it's not working and this morning and yesterday morning I've awoken to blinding sunlight in my eyes at 6am. ...well, since my son's room is vacant I'm going to sleep in there for
the time being.
Hope everyone has a nice day. |

Carol, I was wondering what the heck happened to the blog too. I thought it was just my computer. I'm glad your friend enjoyed NS. They came at a good
time. It hasn't been too muggy, and the air quality has been good. We do have a lot of government protected land, and I hope it stays that way. There is a
huge section of forest and a sea-side area that is protected by the federal government. Hundreds of years ago it was sacred Native land and there are hundreds
of rock sketches, and things like that there that date back centuries. It's now a national park too. I guess they have historical significance. Also there
are a lot of endangered species living in that area, including Blanding's turtle. It's one of the few places left that they are found. Us NSer's
are proud of our country and our little province, that's why I ramble about it sometimes....
I don't think I heard one negative thing about Dark Night. I usually don't go by other's opinions, but I may have to check it out. I don't usually like that type of movie, but I'm very curious. I hope everyone had a wonderful day! Steph
