Sorry fangirls, but I can't.
Bella is the WORST role model for young women that I have ever had the displeasure of reading, in my 21 years on this planet. She has no talents, no hobbies, no outside interests besides cleaning and cooking for her clueless father and obsessing over her newfound (very RAPIDLY newfound) and inexplicable romance with Edward, the hottest undead stalker to ever glitter like a drag queen. She is sullen and withdrawn, self-absorbed and downright rude to her fellow classmates, and she lets Edward walk all over her! The only time she shows any backbone whatsoever is when she is presented with the opportunity to do something incredibly stupid and - of course! - lifethreatening. Then - of course - it's Edward to the rescue!! to scold her and hold her tight against his frozen granite body and breathe on her all sexy-like.
I found that the entire series is basically one big masturbatory fantasy for Stephanie Meyer. Who wouldn't want to be the prettiest, most mysterious girl at her new school - despite a lack of any character or personality at all - and have all the hottest boys lusting after her?
BARF!!!!!
